Workforce and Economy
This Open Horizon site came out of a project looking at trafficking for the sexual exploitation of women and children, but there are many areas of work that can involve trafficking.
Although human trafficking is illegal in most countries, including the UK, trafficked people are often used within the broader legal economy. So, just as trafficked people may be found in an average residential street, trafficked labour can be discovered in almost every area of the economy when we are willing to look beneath the surface. These pages take a look at several areas, with some comments on possible reasons for such trafficking and how we may be linked to it.
