Britain’s legislation includes the crime of violence against the person that may also be Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) or Actual Bodily Harm (ABH).
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights includes Article 5: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
